About Deerailed
Hi, we're Sophie and John, a couple who love the outdoors and are not very good at it.
Deerailed started on a "quick, easy trail" that somehow turned into four hours, zero snacks, and one very confident wrong turn. Somewhere around hour three, we stopped arguing about the map and started laughing about how ridiculous we must have looked. Back at the car, one of us sketched a sad little deer holding a map upside down on the back of a receipt. The other one wrote the caption. That was our first design.
We kept going. Every tee we make starts the same way: a real moment from the trail, a running joke between the two of us, or something we saw outdoors and couldn't stop thinking about. One of us draws, the other one writes, and we both argue about which ideas are too silly to make. (The answer is usually none of them.)
The name is a mix of "deer" and "derailed," because the best adventures rarely go to plan. We started in 2025, and we're still figuring it out as we go, a lot like our hiking.
